Barbara and Stan Pelczynska – my tribute to these passionate conservationists of Bendigo
Thursday, July 23rd, 2026Barbara Pelczynska, with Steven Ridd visiting from afar on a trip to family and friends in Victoria. Both shared the deep sorrow of this so unnecessarily tragic killing of this iconic magnificent local Native elder directly across her street. This elder was healthy, perhaps 300 years old, but ignorant bureaucrats without checking just chainsawed it to death and no doubt, laughed.
